This Level 8 Bachelor of Arts Business degree (Hons.) has been devised to include subjects that support best international business , finance and management practice. The business course will provide students with a unique insight into the fundamental knowledge required and challenges associated with doing business internationally. It provides a deep understanding of international business whilst continuing to develop practical skills in functional areas such as Finance, Accounting, HRM & Marketing. Central to the course is the application and enhancement of knowledge, skills, competences and insights by bringing together learned functional skills and developing an integrated business systems perspective.

What are my Career Prospects with this Business Course?

Graduates with a Bachelor of Business Degree (Hons.) may be entitled to exemptions from the leading Professional Accountancy Bodies including ACA & ACCA. Graduates from this business course can expect to be accepted onto a wide range of Masters courses in Universities and Colleges across the globe including IBAT College's MBA programme accredited by the University of Wales.

Progression

This course has been designed in consultation with HETAC, the Higher Education & Training Awards Council, to provide a pathway for students to further professional qualifications such as progression to Masters Degrees (HETAC Level 9) or directly into employment. Jackie Kennedy - Profile

Jackie is a lecturer in Business and Management studies and teaches a range of subjects such as HRM, Entrepreneurship, HRD, Management and Leadership. She holds an MA in Human Resource Management and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Learning & Teaching from the National College of Ireland. Jackie is a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and the American Society of Human Resource Management. Jackie has over 20 years experience of HRM, Reward & Performance Management in the Financial Services industry, at both senior management and consultant levels. Jackie has taught in a number of private and state educational institutions at both post graduate and undergraduate levels. She combines her extensive range of industry experience with her strong academic achievements to provide an insightful, enjoyable and valuable learning experience for students.

Mark is an IT professional with over 17 years industry experience. Over this period he has accumulated knowledge and skills from numerous sectors ranging from education through to manufacturing and banking. He has been involved in many IT roles including software developer, team leader, systems analyst, and corporate IT trainer. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science from Trinity College and has lectured on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as professional programmes such as IATI and ACCA.

James has been lecturing, specialising in business related subjects on Masters, Professional and Undergraduate academic programmes for a number of years. He holds an honours M.B.A. from D.C.U. as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Training and Education. Lisa is an experienced lecturer who has been teaching for over 14 years. During this time, Lisa has taught in both the academic and corporate sectors. She has previously lectured Business and IT subjects at Griffith College and led the Training Teams in Esat BT and Software Paths. Lisa has also founded & managed 2 small businesses and brings extensive real life work experience to her teaching role. She has undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Business and IT from Northeastern University, Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University. She had previously worked in the business sector in relation to entrepreneurship and business communications. Her research interest is widely spread from the financial sector to business sectors.

Dave Cormack

Dave has over thirty years experience in State, Semi State and Private Sectors the latter twenty in senior positions across HR, Marketing and IT. He has gained a wealth of lecturing experience with the University of Limerick, National College of Ireland and IBAT. Dave holds a professional diploma in management and MBA from the Open University Business School, has been a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland since 1993 and qualified as a project management professional (PMP) in 2009. As a facilitator of learning Dave is an advocate of problem based learning and committed to a student centred approach.
