Want to understand the important role that financial analysis plays in a business? Then the Bachelor of Business is the course for you. This three-year degree programme provides a broad range of business skills in conjunction with a detailed knowledge of the current business environment in which companies operate. The practical focus adopted by the College will help develop our students with the necessary personal and professional skills that will allow them to confidently progress onto a relevant postgraduate course or start a successful business career.course explain


A graduate of the College's Bachelor of Business (Level 7) course would be strongly suited to an entry level position across many different sectors, from SME's to Multi-National Corporations. This degree programme also prepares graduates for entry level positions in a number of different business areas, such as Marketing and Human Resource Management.

Many of the College's graduates continue on into the Bachelor of Business (Honours) programme with the College. Our Honours Degree programme is the pinicle of our undergraduate programmes and progression onto this is a highly popular choice with our level 7 students.

Entry Requirements

Application for Leaving Certificate students is facilitated through the standard CAO system (CAO code BY201). A minimum of five D3s in ordinary-levels subjects in the Leaving Certificate, including English and maths, are required.

Mature students (aged 23 and above on the 1st of January on the year of admission) should apply directly to IBAT College Dublin.

International students should apply directly. IBAT College uses a number of comparison systems, such as NARIC and the NQAI Qualifications Recognition system, to compare and establish equivalency of international awards. An IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent is required for non-native English speakers.


The College starts its degree programme from the foundations of business in first year, concentrating on introductions to core business areas in year two, and builds to discussing more critical issues facing business in year three.

Jackie Kennedy -Human Resource Management lecturer

Jackie has an MA in Strategic Human Resource Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Learning & Teaching. She has extensive lecturing experience in private and state 3rd level institutions in Ireland and Asia. She teaches subjects in Business Communications, Management, Human Resource Management, and Strategy at post graduate and undergraduate levels. Jackie has over 20 years’ experience as a senior HR professional in the Financial Services sector, in both senior management positions and as an independent HR consultant. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and of the Society of Human Resource Management in the US.

Mark Dean – IS/IT Lecturer

Mark is an IT professional with over 19 years industry experience. Over this period he has accumulated knowledge and skills from numerous sectors ranging from education through to manufacturing and banking. He has been involved in many IT roles including software developer, team leader, systems analyst, and corporate IT trainer. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science from Trinity College and has lectured on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Jeff has five years lecturing experience chiefly in the management and event management domain. Through his experiences in the event management industry Jeff brings real world examples and a practical knowledge into the classroom. Jeff maintains links with industry via Jeff is currently a Phd researcher at the Dublin Institute of Technology, studying creativity and innovation in business education.

Ruth has been a Member in Practice since 2005 running my own company providing accounting services. She have also been lecturing part time since 2005 in the areas of financial accounting, management accounting, financial management and introductory level accounting modules at FETAC and HETAC levels 6 to 8.

John has over 25 years senior management experience with a number of large multi-national companies in the Information Technology sector. During this period he was responsible for Customer Service Delivery, Business Operations and Supply Chain Management for Ireland, Europe, Middle East and Africa. John was awarded an International Executive MBA by the Smurfit Business School (UCD). He holds numerous other educational qualifications, including Diplomas in Logistics Management awarded by the Dutch Federation of Industry (DEBAK) and TEFL

Alan Morgan - Operations Management lecturer

Alan has over 20 years practical experience across wholesale, distribution and retail sectors within the Pharmaceutical, Homeware & Giftware industries. During his 20 years he has developed a deep commercial operations and supply chain competence that includes extensive global sourcing, product, brand development and distribution. This competence is complemented by his practical and experiential Retail Branding, Sales and Marketing experience.


Ciaran Lawlor - Corporate and Business Law Lecturer

Ciarán Lawlor is a practicing Barrister and an experienced legal educator. Ciarán graduated from University College Dublin with an Honours Degree in Law. He proceeded to study at the Honorable Society of the King’s Inns and was called to the Irish Bar in 2005. He subsequently completed an LLM in European Law, graduating with distinction.

Prior to commencing practice at the Irish Bar, Ciarán interned with leading Irish law firm A&L Goodbody, and with Amnesty International (Ireland). His practice focuses on civil law, with an emphasis on contract and commercial litigation, debt-collection, defamation, personal-injuries, and tort law generally. Ciarán has a broad experience of teaching law. At the Law School in UCD, he was a Senior Tutor to undergraduate Law Students, and Lecturer in tort law on the Graduate Diploma in Arbitration. He is currently a member of the faculty at the Professional Law School, at City Colleges.
