About IBAT`s Event Management Courses

The FETAC Certificate in Event Management aims to provide students with a broad understanding of event management, specifically the event proposal, the quality assurance and the post-event evaluation. This course will provide graduates with a recognised qualification that will equip them to work in the Event Management industry through experiencing first-hand knowledge into how successful events are executed.

IBAT`s management courses are aimed at existing or mature students and those in current employment who wish to complement their work experience with a practical qualification such as a diploma in event management. All of our lecturers have a mix of academic and industry experience which enables us to deliver a practical, career-focuses course.What differentiates IBAT`s Event Management course is it gives students practical experience in Event Management. During this course, students will be required to devise, host and evaluate an event that they have staged. The course will equip them with the necessary tools to ensure that their event is a success. This will include preparing an event proposal, becoming familiar with the statutory obligations required to host an event and being able to critically evaluate whether an event is successful or not.

Who accredits IBAT`s Event Management Courses?

This course is accredited by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC). However, FETAC has recently been amalgamated in a new integrated agency called Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). The QQI are the new Authority who will have responsibility for both awards and quality assurance of awards on the NFQ.

Am I eligible for this Management Course?

No undue barriers will be placed before student entry to this course. People from any educational background or work experience are eligible to apply for this course. This course is ideal for someone who wishes to pursue a career in Event Management

How long is the Event management course?

The course is a 10 week (Part Time) course. It takes place one evening per week from 6.30pm-9.30pm.

Jeff Taylor, B.Sc. M.Sc- Management Lecturer Jeff has been involved in the event management industry for over a decade. His back ground is in large scale event solutions, with work including high profile music festivals such as Slane Castle and Oxygen to the largest poker event ever held outside of Las Vegas, The Boyle Sports International Poker Open. Jeff maintains links with the industry and has developed skills in a boutique event space via BrandTactics.ie. Jeff is completing his P.H.D at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
