The IBAT College Dublin  part-time Diploma in Event Management aims to provide students with a broad understanding of event management, specifically the event proposal, the quality assurance and the post-event evaluation. The primary goals of this course are to equip students with the required skills to gain employment in the event management industry through demonstration of how to organise successful and profitable events.

IBAT College Dublin puts a strong emphasis on the delivery of practical, career-focused courses. The lecturers have a mix of academic and industry experience which enables us to deliver a practical, career-focused course. The course will equip graduates with the necessary tools to allow them to manage an event from proposal to completion stage. This will include preparing an event proposal, becoming familiar with the statutory obligations required to host an event and being able to critically evaluate whether an event is successful or not.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this programme, learners will be able to:
  • Research, prepare and present a proposal for an event
  • Understand the legal requirements associated with holding an event
  • Market an event to the appropriate audience
  • Ensure the quality assurance elements of an event are followed

Career Opportunities

On completion of this course graduates will have a strong understanding of the event management industry. This allows graduates to seek employment as a co-ordinator in the event management industry, working in collaboration with a team or independently.

Graduates would be equipped to contribute to the organisation of a range of events, from catering and charity events to sports and political events.

Academic Progression Opportunities

Students who graduate with a Diploma in Event Mangement and are interested in furthering their study of management are eligible to progress onto the College’s Diploma in Supervisory Management.

Programme Accreditation

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded an IBAT College Dublin Diploma in Event Management.

Jeff Taylor, B.Sc. M.Sc- Management Lecturer

Jeff has been involved in the event management industry for over a decade. His back ground is in large scale event solutions, with work including high profile music festivals such as Slane Castle and Oxygen to the largest poker event ever held outside of Las Vegas, The Boyle Sports International Poker Open. Jeff maintains links with the industry and has developed skills in a boutique event space via BrandTactics.ie. Jeff is completing his P.H.D at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
