Swords, a great place to live and study

Swords is a breath of fresh air, from its nearby beaches and idyllic rural landscape to all the nightlife, leisure and cultural opportunities you’d expect from a large town near Dublin’s city centre. Swords boasts the largest selection of nightclubs and pubs on the north side of Dublin outside of the city centre. The town has a wide range of shops, banks, pubs and other businesses, including the large modern Pavilions Shopping Centre.

Swords, North Dublin is right at the heart of Fingal County Council. Fingal has the youngest population in Ireland according to the latest census. We are located in a town which combines its medieval origins with its present-day status as a modern, dynamic centre on the fringe of Dublin. Swords is adjacent to the Irish and European headquarters of many multi-national high technology industries. The population of Swords is 43,000 making it one of the largest towns in Ireland.

Local attractions
While Swords is one of the biggest towns in Ireland it has retained its medieval charm. Swords Castle is situated in the centre of this ancient town. It is the former residence of the Archbishop of Dublin and is the only fortified residence of the Archbishop to survive in its original state today. The castle was built over a period of 400 years starting before 1200 AD.
Malahide and Portmarnock (4 km)

The college is well placed for visiting local attractions, such as the seaside towns of Portmarnock, Howth and Malahide, once a small fishing village and now a pretty, designated heritage town with a majestic 14th century castle.

Your time here as a student will be one of the most exciting experiences of your life – a unique opportunity to study subjects that really interest you, to acquire knowledge and skills which are highly valued by employers and to make new and lasting friendships.
