HIGHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING AWARDS COUNCIL, HETAC

hetac logoThe Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) was established by the Government in June 2001, under the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 1999. HETAC is the qualifications awarding body for third-level educational institutions outside of the university sector. It is the legal successor to the National Council for Educational Awards (NCEA). HETAC’s remit includes the validation of programmes, setting and monitoring standards and Quality Assurance in higher education and training. It is also charged with ensuring that student assessment procedures within institutions are fair and consistent, and ensuring academic and financial protection for students in commercial educational institutions providing programmes validated by HETAC. INTERNATIONAL THERAPEUTIC EXAMINATION COUNCIL, ITEC

ITEC is the largest international examination board offering a variety of qualifications worldwide. ITEC provides 17 qualifications that are UK government accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills.
