This level 8 Bachelor of Business (Hons.) - Marketing has been devised to include subjects that support best marketing practice within Business. The marketing focus addresses the increased demands that the rapidly changing marketplace places on businesses today. From the smallest start-up to the largest multinational, it has become increasingly important for businesses to be pro-active to changes in the external environment.

The marketing emphasis of this business course seeks to develop students understanding of the cross functional role that marketing plays with other key functions within organizations and the core role that marketing plays in determining the growth potential of an enterprise.

The marketing focus of this business degree course explores the core marketing principles in the context of organizations, business management practice and the changing business environment. These skills enable graduates of the course to successfully apply for marketing position in small to medium size enterprises and large multinational marketing firms.

Am I eligible for the course?

Applicants require a HC3 in two subjects and passes in four other subjects at H or I grade in five subjects at ordinary level in the Leaving Certificate to include Maths and English.

Students holding a relevant Certificate, Diploma or other relevant third level qualification may qualify for entry to the second or third year of this degree course.

Mature applicants should apply directly.

Rosemary Deneher – Business & Management Lecturer
Rosemary combines a strong academic background with extensive experience in the business sector, including a number of year’s managerial experience. Rosemary holds a BA in Business and HRM from the NCI and a Masters Degree (MSc) in Education and Training Management from DCU. Rosemary is experienced in developing and delivering high quality programmes and brings a wealth of practical experience to her teaching practice. She lectures in Business, Business Management and People Management

Mark is an IT professional with over 17 years industry experience. Over this period he has accumulated knowledge and skills from numerous sectors ranging from education through to manufacturing and banking. He has been involved in many IT roles including software developer, team leader, systems analyst, and corporate IT trainer. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science from Trinity College and has lectured on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as professional programmes such as IATI and ACCA.

Barry Smith, chartered accountant, has been teaching accounting and finance since 2001. He spent five years teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Dublin City University Business School. In 2006, he left Dublin City University to establish his own business developing online accounting and finance educational content. Barry continues to teach ACCA and ACA accounting courses on a freelance basis and has recently authored a financial accounting textbook for McGraw-Hill publishers. Prior to working at DCU, he spent five years working with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New Zealand, Germany and Zimbabwe. Barry holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from University College Dublin and is currently completing PhD research at the University of Birmingham, UK.

She has worked at a senior level in different sectors, ranging from retail to manufacturing based in Ireland, the UK and Germany. Paula has experience in the public sector having acted as a financial adviser in relation to EU funding. She is now using the practical experiences gained in industry to deliver accountancy modules on the Management Accounting module on IATI.

Dr. Martin Quinn – IATI Financial Accounting 1 and II Lecturer
A Charted Management Accountant since 1994, Martin has a BA(Hons) in Business Studies, an MSc in Management and Applications of IT in Accounting. He has worked in manufacturing firms in Ireland for 11 years (several roles in small indigenous manufacturing firms and 8 years in a global paper company) prior to starting an academic career. He completed his PhD in the School of Accounting & Finance at University of Dundee in 2010.
