This full time course will provide students with the relevant knowledge and skills to empower them to make a significant contribution within modern business, commercial or administrative environments. The course is for school leavers who wish to pursue a career in business, enterprise or related fields and also mature students who wish to improve their career prospects. The learning process in this course involves lectures, tutorials, practicals, workshops, case studies and interactive learning. Lecturers actively encourage participation in classes. This course is particularly strong on both finance and information technology.

Am I eligable for the course?

Applicants require a D3 grade in five subjects at ordinary level in the Leaving Certificate to include Maths and English. Mature applicants are also eligible to apply for the course.

Students holding a relevant Certificate, Diploma or other relevant, third level qualification may qualify for entry to the second year of this course.

Mature student applicants should apply directly.

Paul has lecture extensively in Financial and Management Accounting over the past five years in private and state colleges including both ACCA and ICAI students. Prior to 2002, Paul worked as a professional accountant for many years. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds an MBS in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

Cliodna holds a Barrister-at-Law Degree from the Honorable Society of Kings Inns, a Bachelor of European Business and Legal Studies from University College Dublin and a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology from Dublin City University. Having previously worked in the business sector and now a practicing Barrister-at-Law Cliodna brings her extensive experience in both law and business to her teaching practice enabling her to deliver an in-depth and high quality Corporate and Business Law programme.

Mark Dean – IS/IT Lecturer
Mark is an IT professional with over 17 years industry experience. Over this period he has accumulated knowledge and skills from numerous sectors ranging from education through to manufacturing and banking. He has been involved in many IT roles including software developer, team leader, systems analyst, and corporate IT trainer. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science from Trinity College and has lectured on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as professional programmes such as IATI and ACCA.

James has been lecturing, specialising in business related subjects on Masters, Professional and Undergraduate academic programmes for a number of years. He is also responsible for the design and delivery of business related training modules for corporate clients. He has previously lectured with the D.I.T. and V.E.C. He holds an honours M.B.A. from D.C.U. as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Training and Education. Prior to going into full-time training, James has worked for three separate and distinct multinational companies (American, Japanese and Irish) in various management roles. She has been lecturing for six years in a variety of business and IT subjects and has also worked as a Director of Studies and academic registrar

Lisa is an experienced lecturer who has been teaching for over 14 years. During this time, Lisa has taught in both the academic and corporate sectors. She has previously lectured Business and IT subjects at Griffith College and led the Training Teams in Esat BT and Software Paths. Lisa has also founded & managed 2 small businesses and brings extensive real life work experience to her teaching role. Barry Smith – Business & Finance Lecturer
Barry Smith, chartered accountant, has been teaching accounting and finance since 2001. He spent five years teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Dublin City University Business School. In 2006, he left Dublin City University to establish his own business developing online accounting and finance educational content. Barry continues to teach ACCA and ACA accounting courses on a freelance basis and has recently authored a financial accounting textbook for McGraw-Hill publishers. Prior to working at DCU, he spent five years working with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New Zealand, Germany and Zimbabwe. Barry holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from University College Dublin and is currently completing PhD research at the University of Birmingham, UK.

She has worked at a senior level in different sectors, ranging from retail to manufacturing based in Ireland, the UK and Germany. Paula has experience in the public sector having acted as a financial adviser in relation to EU funding. She is now using the practical experiences gained in industry to deliver accountancy modules on the Management Accounting module on IATI.

He holds numerous other educational qualifications, including Diplomas in Logistics Management awarded by the Dutch Federation of Industry (DEBAK) and TEFL

A Charted Management Accountant since 1994, Martin has a BA(Hons) in Business Studies and an MSc in Management and Applications of IT in Accounting. Martin has worked in manufacturing firms in Ireland for 11 years prior to starting an academic career. Martin spent several years with a small indigenous manufacturing firm and 8 years in a global paper company. He has acquidarkblue intimate knowledge of the paper and packaging industry in both finance and information technology fields. Martin is currently undertaking a PhD research degree.
