ICM Graduate Dip in Management Studies Course
Course Overview
The Diploma in Management Studies course aims to provide the knowledge, understanding and skills for learners wishing to develop their careers in management or to expand their existing skill base in their current employment. This advanced level management course is routinely selected by employers seeking a suitable course of study for their middle and line managers.
This course is aimed at existing or mature students and those in current employment who wish to complement their work experience with a practical qualification such as a diploma in management. In particular, it offers an attractive curriculum for adult learners who may not have been involved with education or training for some time.
What are my career prospects
On successful completion of the examinations students are awarded the ICM Graduate Diploma in Management Studies and may use the designatory letters Grad. DMS after their name. Graduates will be equipped to pursue career opportunities as managers in a wide range of areas. The qualification also ensures entry to a range of other post graduate courses.

Am I eligable for the course?
Graduates of the IBAT Diploma in Supervisory Management are eligible to apply.
Applicants over the age of 21 who do not hold one of the required qualifications may register for the course provided they have been in full-time employment for a minimum of 3 years and hold a senior supervisory or managerial position.

2 Years (Part Time) two evenings per week from 6.30pm – 8.30pm).

Prior to 2002, Paul worked as a professional accountant for many years. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds an MBS in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. |

| Cliodna McAleer – Business & Law Lecturer Cliodna holds a Barrister-at-Law Degree from the Honorable Society of Kings Inns, a Bachelor of European Business and Legal Studies from University College Dublin and a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology from Dublin City University. Having previously worked in the business sector and now a practicing Barrister-at-Law Cliodna brings her extensive experience in both law and business to her teaching practice enabling her to deliver an in-depth and high quality Corporate and Business Law programme. |

| Olivia Edge – Business & Finance Lecturer Olivia has over 12 years account management experience in leading multi-national companies in the digital electronics and software industries. Over this time she has amassed experience in strategic business development and deployment, sales operations, price negotiations, customer relationship management and marketing management. She holds a Bachelor in Business Studies and a Masters by Research in Business Studies. She lectures a variety of business subjects including International Marketing, Strategic Management, Project Management and Organisational Behaviour. |

| Barry Smith – Business & Finance Lecturer Barry Smith, chartered accountant, has been teaching accounting and finance since 2001. He spent five years teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Dublin City University Business School. In 2006, he left Dublin City University to establish his own business developing online accounting and finance educational content. Barry continues to teach ACCA and ACA accounting courses on a freelance basis and has recently authored a financial accounting textbook for McGraw-Hill publishers. Prior to working at DCU, he spent five years working with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New Zealand, Germany and Zimbabwe. Barry holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from University College Dublin and is currently completing PhD research at the University of Birmingham, UK. |

| Paula Daly Hayes – Business & Finance Lecturer Paula is a qualified accountant and a graduate of DCU where she was awarded a Bachelor of Business. She has worked at a senior level in different sectors, ranging from retail to manufacturing based in Ireland, the UK and Germany. Paula has experience in the public sector having acted as a financial adviser in relation to EU funding. She is now using the practical experiences gained in industry to deliver accountancy modules on the Management Accounting module on IATI. |

| John Murtagh - Business & Management Lecturer John has over 25 years senior management experience with a number of large multi-national companies in the Information Technology sector. During this period he was responsible for Customer Service Delivery, Business Operations and Supply Chain Management for Ireland, Europe, Middle East and Africa. John was awarded an International Executive MBA by the Smurfit Business School (UCD). He holds numerous other educational qualifications, including Diplomas in Logistics Management awarded by the Dutch Federation of Industry (DEBAK) and TEFL |
