Direct Entry Students

DIRECT ENTRY

student17

As IBAT College is a private college, the primary method for application for courses (including full-time undergraduate business courses listed on the CAO) is by "Direct Entry".

Prospective students of all profiles applying through this method are still required to meet the entry requirements for their preferred course.

If a School Leaver wishes to make an application to IBAT College by direct entry, the number of points that he/she obtains in his/her Leaving Certificate is not-applicable. However, if he/she is less than 23 years of age on the year of entry, they are still required to meet the minimum entry requirements for their preferred course.

The Minimum Entry Requirements for each course is listed on the requisite course home page.

All applications for direct entry programmes should include a copy of official Leaving Certificate results with the exception of mature applications (who must supply evidence of date of birth). All applications for postgraduate programmes should include an official copy of third level qualifications.

Whilst applications for our full-time Business Courses can made either through the CAO system or Direct Entry, applications for full and part-time courses in Management, Law, Accounting, Therapeutics and Information Technology are made through Direct Entry ONLY.

FETAC

Applicatiants who hold FETAC qualifications of FETAC Level 2 Awards or equivalent with a course over more than one academic year may apply to FETAC to be eligible for consideration for an Ordinary Degree or Higher Certificate programme

Applications must be made through the CAO for those courses offered through the CAO. For direct entry programmes applicants must send a completed direct entry application form to the Institute of Business and Technology.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

Students holding a relevant Certificate, Diploma or other relevant third level qualification may qualify for entry to the second or third year of degree programme. Transfer applications to the second or third year full-time programmes are to be made directly to the Institute.
