CAO GUIDE
IBAT College currently has 5 courses listed on page 49 of the CAO Handbook
Prospective students under the age of 23, on the year of entry, who wish to apply for entry onto our full-time undergraduate business programmes should make their application through the CAO system using the above codes (see page 49).
Applications for alternative courses in Information Technology, Management, Law, Accounting and Therapeutics can be applied for through "Direct Entry".

Deadline Dates for CAO
Prospective students applying to IBAT College should make note of the following important CAO deadline dates:
- 1st February 2010 (5.15pm) - Normal Applications (Paper/Online"
- 1st May 2010 (5.15pm) - Late Online Applications
- 1st May 2010 (5.15pm) Late Paper Applications
- 1st July 2010 (5.15pm) Change of Mind
CAO Selection Process

Selection of CAO applicants operates on the number of points a prospective student obtains in his/her Leaving Certificate. These points are calculated by adding up the requisite points for a student's six best subjects. It is important for students to note that the results of two sittings of the Leaving Certificate may be combined for the purposes of meeting the subject requirements for minimum entry.

| D3 | 45 | 5 |
LCVP:
Holders of the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme apply in the normal way through the CAO system. Points are awarded on the same basis as the Leaving Certificate.
FETAC:
Applicants who hold previously acquired FETAC qualifications of FETAC Level 2 Awards or equivalent with a course over more than one academic year may apply to FETAC to be eligible for consideration for an Ordinary Degree or Higher Certificate programme
Applications must be made through the CAO for those courses offered through the CAO. For direct entry programmes applicants must send a completed direct entry application form to the Institute of Business and Technology.
Deferrals:
If an applicant is offered a place on a course through CAO, it is possible to defer entry for one year but only in accordance with the procedure outlined in the CAO Handbook. Non-CAO applicants can only defer at the discretion of the Institute. Please contact our Admissions Team for more information.
