Am I eligible for the Desktop Publishing course?

This course is focused on delivering a range of DTP skills to an audience of beginner to advanced DTP Designers. The target group are Designers and Publishers who have good computer skills and some knowledge of the print industry. The course is also open to those completely new to the industry, good computer skills are a prerequisite.

Who accredits this course?

This course is certified by the IBAT College and FETAC. On successful completion of this programme you will receive an IBAT Diploma in Desk Top Publishing and a FETAC Level 6 Component Award in Desk Top Publishing.

FETAC is the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland, the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) gives people the opportunity to gain recognition for learning in education or training institutions, in the work place and in the community.

How long is the course?

The course is 1 evening a week over 14 weeks.

Morgan Campbell - Desktop Publishing Lecturer Morgan has worked in the print and design industry for more than five years. He spent several years working in desktop publishing and graphic design departments in Ireland before travelling to the UK. During this time he worked on numerous high profile marketing campaigns and won several design and marketing awards. In 2007 he returned from England to complete a masters degree in marketing and oversee the running of his own design and marketing enterprise.
Alan Dargan- Desktop Publishing Lecturer Alan has over 8 years industry experience as a design and digital media professional. He has wide, Hands-on expertise in design for print, web and video for a variety of public and private sector clients. As well as being knowledgeable about design concepts, such s typography, colour theory and layout, Alans technical proficiency allows him to explain complex concepts in a clear and intelligible manner.
