As you would expect from an MBA programme the students on the programme come from diverse back rounds such as different industries, different functions, different countries, different qualifiactions. This diversity ensures opinions and experiences shared enrich your ultimate learning experience.

Our part-time students often have significant industry experience (current average is 12 years) with over 25% being international learners.

The MBA has two annual intakes - September and February with classes running over 12 weeks in each semester.

There are two semesters per academic year. Each semester is 15 weeks in duration. Lectures are delivered over 12 weeks, two evenings per week. There is also a reading week.

Through the duration of the programme students will be assessed continually by a combination of different methods,  written assignments, critiquing assigned readings and making presentations. It is important that students experience this blend of assessment. Importantly, there is a strong mix between individual and group assessment which brings with it additional challenges and learning opportunities.

You will be assessed on class participation, presentation skills, group projects and case-studies.

An MBA is a challenging programme - as befits the most prestigious business degree qualification in the world. Many find the entire experience of an MBA to be a life-changing one, both personally and professionally. The extra workload demanded outside the classroom depends on many factors, current role, experience of the content, aptitude to the subject matter, your attitude to learning etc. Our guide is to consider between 10-20 hours per week is required for reading and team based projects, reports and presentations.

The entry requirements for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme are:

• Hold a minimum of a 2.2 honours degree (level 8), or an appropriate equivalent, i.e, a professional qualification from a recognised education institution in Ireland, or abroad.
• An IELTS score of 6.0, with at least a 5.5 in all components, or equivalent, is required for non-native English speakers.

OR

• Have an appropriate period of prior experiential learning and/or relevant experience in management or business related employment fields, or a related area/discipline/subject experience. This is normally equivalent to, or comparable with at least two years relevant experiential learning. This period is not prescriptive and will be interpreted flexibly as part of consideration for entry. 

If you do not fully satisfy the general criteria you may still be considered and may be admitted if you are able to demonstrate that you are capable of successfully undertaking and completing the programme at the required standard, and are able to contribute fully to, and benefit from, the learning experiences delivered within the programme. They may require an interview to be conducted. This can be by phone or a requested can be made for a face-to-face interview.

If you are presenting with a qualification from overseas, this will be subject to checks. IBAT College Dublin uses a number of comparison systems, such as the NARIC Qualifications Recognition system, to compare and establish equivalency of international academic awards.

The College will take all appropriate and reasonable steps to assess each applicant’s potential and make a professional judgement about their ability to successfully complete the programme of study and achieve the qualification. This assessment will take account of the supports available to the learner during their programme of study and any specific support that might be necessary. The IBAT College Dublin 'Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)' policy applies to both standard and non-standard applications.

Whether your first step is via email, phone or attendance at one of our “drop-in” events, you will be offered an initial consultation to discuss your eligibility and answer any pertinent questions. If successful at this preliminary stage, an application form will be issued.

Upon receipt of your application (to include all academic transcripts, Matriculation form, CV and work references where applicable), decision on your application will be made as soon as possible. In some cases further documentation may be sought. For some applicants an interview may need to be conducted.

The tuition fees for the part-time study option is €4,500 per annum.
