Course Overview

The programme aims to provide you with direct hands-on experience of deploying and running business activities on the Salesforce platform so that you then are in a very strong position to implement the Salesforce platform in an organisational setting.  The programme gives you instructor-led support with the most suitable Salesforce Trailhead modules to learn everything you need to get started and running in Salesforce as a business user.

  • Lightning Experience Basics 
  • Lightning Experience for Sales (explore and customise features) 
  • Community Cloud (Community Cloud to connect with customers, partners, and employees)  
  • Marketing Cloud (Explore the marketing suite of products and start building a digital marketing strategy) 
  • Analytics (Uncover new insights from business data using Analytics and the smarts of Einstein) 
  • Data Security (controlling access to various data components, sharing and access rules)
  • User Management (set up users and control how they can view or edit various business data) 
  • Chatter Administration (enabling feeds, approving content) 
  • Entitlement Management (setting up and using entitlements with different customer rules)
  • Customising the interface (apps, list views, layouts, buttons and links, etc) 
  • Lightning Flow process automation (automating business processes, , flow builder, process builder, setting automated approvals) 
  • Salesforce Mobile App (how to configure for on-the-go collaborative practice) 
  • Reports & Dashboards (using the report-builder, formatting reports, filtering in reports, grouping  data in a report, using formulae in reports, visualising report data using the dashboard)
  • Data Quality (strategies for assessing and improving the quality of data in Salesforce) 
  • Data Modelling (giving structure to data using objects, fields, and relationships) 
  • Managing for efficiency (managing Chatter, creating and using email and letterhead templates)


The programme is assessed entirely by coursework.  There is no formal exam.

Programme Material
Printed course notes are supplied for the first lecture. All subsequent notes are then available to download/view/print through the student virtual learning (Moodle) platform.

Entry Requirements

The programme is designed for those with some knowledge and / or experience of sales and marketing but lacking experience with the Salesforce platform.
