The first one is the “Malahide Castle and Gardens Tour” happening on Saturday, May 31st. The land surrounded by 18th century sculpted landscape where Malahide Castle is located was granted to the Talbot family in 1174 by King Henry II.
The earliest part of the castle dates back to the 12th century, and the Talbot family managed to keep their castle and estates for almost 791 years.
Many stories surround the castle including that of their family ghost, “Puck”. It is said that 7th Lord Talbot was passionate about botany and it is evident as the gardens showcase multiple collections of plants and flowers.
In 1975 the castle was later sold to the Irish State after the death of the 7th Baron Talbot.
For the student price of €12, it is too good to miss.
The meeting point and time: Outside the main Entrance of Malahide Castle at 11:50 AM
