COVID Protocols - Return to Campus

Wearing of face masks required in common areas or when social distances of 1 metre or less can not be practised

Classroom areas
  • During the lessons, unnecessary contact between students or between students and staff should be avoided.
  • Students should not arrive more than 15 minutes before or after the scheduled start of their class as they are not allowed to enter the building.
  • No shared resources are available in classrooms.
  • Students are required to bring their own writing materials and notebooks.
Common areas
  • The canteen will be open but capacity is restricted as social distancing measures still in place.  Students can eat lunch in their classroom to minimise contact with other classes.
  • We recommend students bring food and water for break time and not leave at break time.
  • Our computer labs are available for use, but at a reduced capacity in line with social distancing protocols. We recommend students bring their own mobile or other electronic devices for personal use, if needed.
  • Your library will be open but at a reduced capacity in line with social distancing protocols. However, staff can assist students with borrowing resources that you can use at home.
Reception areas
  • Any staff member or student exhibiting signs or symptoms of COVID-19 will be refused entry or requested to go to the isolation room.
  • An isolation room is available for any student or staff feeling unwell during the day until they can leave the school.
  • Frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, light switches, reception desks are cleaned regularly throughout the day.
  • Protective screen barriers are fitted in the reception area to protect staff and students. Please avoid approaching staff members through the gaps between barriers.
  • We encourage students to contact us via the Helpdesk – 24/7 ticketing service to manage  queries https://my.ibat.ie/helpdesk/public/auth/login
  • Visible signage regarding cough etiquette, maintaining an adequate physical distance and appropriate hand washing techniques are posted in common areas for everyone to see.
  • Do not crowd in common areas particularly on arrival and departure.
