Why we all Need to Learn to Code

Reasons to consider learning to code:

1. Coding helps develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
2. Coding requires understanding what users want -- and then crafting solutions to their needs.
3. Coding requires working in teams.
4. Learning to code opens the door to job opportunities.
5. Learning to code gives non-coders confidence with technology.

Contributor with Inc.com, Glen Leibowitz, recently spoke with two professional coders who have built billion-dollar businesses on the back of their coding skills -- Nathan Blecharczyk, co-founder and CTO of Airbnb; and Matt Mullenweg, creator of WordPress and CEO of Automattic.

If You're Going to Upskill, Do it Right

Jack Quann, Part-time Professional Diploma Alumnus at IBAT College Dublin gives an insight into studying part-time.

"Let's face it, a lot of working life can be a rat race - but it's not necessarily to the bottom. Upskilling is an important part of any job - whether it's a day course or a course spread out over 11 weeks.

If you want to stand out, you may as well do it properly. That's how I came to study at IBAT College Dublin.

You’re getting your education but how do you get work experience?

The main job websites in Ireland are Indeed, Irish Jobs, Jobs.ie, Jobs Ireland, Monster.ie, Publicjobs.ie and recruitireland.com.  Many of these websites also have a career advice centre which give really useful tips in starting your job search. These sites are a good place to start your search and can help give you an idea of what sort of jobs are available in your area of interest. They might also give you additional key words to search with.  For example, if you type a broad search term such as ‘marketing’ into the job title field on IrishJobs.ie, you’ll find suggestions for various other job titles which you can then use to refine your search.

We are delighted to confirm that Arden University will be offering students the unique opportunity to study three of its Masters programmes in IBAT College Dublin from this October. These industry relevant programmes are delivered both full-time and part-time via blended learning, a combination of both on-campus and online learning. This essentially means that students get the best of both worlds: a certain amount of control over where and speed at which they study combined with regular, face-to-face contact with a tutor.
